 LAST WORDS FOR EASTER SUNDAY

APRIL 21ST. 2019

     Easter Day Last Word

There is a magazine you can buy called “Positive News”. Like the title says it only contains positive and constructive journalism. It covers all things but in a positive way. It can be difficult can’t it when you only hear bad news.

Their slogan is “Fed up with bad news but want to stay informed?”

A Russian web site tried this as well, but just for one day. It however lost two thirds of its readers that day. The headlines were for example “no disruption on the roads despite snow” but it failed to get any attention from the web searching public. It says a lot about us doesn’t it.

We have just gone through a few bad news days for the early church.

“Jesus arrested”

“Jesus found guilty”

Jesus is Crucified.

Have the headlines drawn you in? Do they make you want to read on.

Or are you taken by today – Easter Sunday.

The ultimate good news day with the ultimate good news Story

“ the tomb is empty”

“Angel brings Good news”

“Jesus is seen alive by Mary”

“Christ is risen is risen indeed”

May I wish you a very Happy and blessed Easter from Jane the boys and myself.

Vicar Robert

FOODBANK

The folks at the Foodbank

were most grateful for the

generous donations from

our Parish in Holy Week. They now find that the demands there outstrip their supply and put out a special appeal for the following – any tinned food (especially fish), jams, cereals, soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, disposable razor blades, toilet rolls... Any cash donations we are happy to convert into these goods.

Thank you.
